Feedback

We love getting feedback about the race, and some of it is just too good not to share. Here’s what some previous competitors have had to say.

Just participated. Gruelling, but absolutely fantastic. Best element for me is that I can’t think of a better ‘team adventure’ (best way I can describe it). Other events (ultramarathons etc) will be fantastic, but they’re far more individual. The great friends I did this with are even better friends now for having shared the experience.

A truly epic adventure. We ran Oban, Mull, Jura and Arran – 63 miles and 13000ft with “recovery” keeled over sailing between the islands. Enormous views from the summits. And a very friendly event. I feel very lucky to have done this.

An event that will push you to your limits… and possibly beyond what you thought possible. Fantastically well-organised and marshalled, with friendly participants and a stunning, challenging, well-designed course with plenty of running and sailing interest. Strongly recommended to any runners/sailors that want to ‘take it to the next level.’

Thanks very much for the superb organisation for this years SIPR. It was a great event to participate in and we’ll be very interested in joining again next year. Your team did a superb job at coordinating the shore organisation.

What a fantastic event! Elated, exhausted, soaking up the true spirit of the event… and needing a week to dry out… and that’s just the marshals!

As a runner it was quite a surreal experience. On our Boat we were either rowing or being smashed about like we in a washing machine (she was quite flighty). When aboard we runners could not wait to get off…but clinging on with three-points-of-contact on top of the Paps/Ben More/Goat Fell…we could not wait to get back on board! All in all it was an unforgettable weekend and a collective first-time experience for the team. It was all very last minute and due to the demands of our day jobs, there was no opportunity to train/run/sail together before the get-go. We had a very mixed bag of runners of differing experience and ability and with the exception of Arran, the other two hills were virgin territory for us. Bags of determination and will to succeed got us round but plenty of lessons learned for next time. We will be back: fitter, faster & slicker; ready to take on the (very impressive) civilian teams in 2015!!!

Many thanks, this was my third race and another great adventure. I have competed in numerous yacht races, too many to mention, but I always come back to talking about the Peaks Race and the drama, experience we had doing it. It is thanks to you and your team that we competitors get these experiences and memories that last a life time and for that I am truly thankful.

Thank you for a fantastically organised event, if a little tougher than I anticipated (but that made it even better)! I will definitely be back next year, it was an experience never to forget and I appreciate all the time and effort you and everyone else put in.
